Airport Travel
There has been a wide range of stories in the press about travellers flying in to Johannesburg's
International Airport (O R Tambo) and then being followed from the airport to be robbed and even
murdered.
Travellers emerging from the International Arrivals section of the airport
are met by a bewildering crowd of touts and 'porters' offering to 'assist' travellers with their
connections from the airport to their accommodation. If you don't already know your way around the
airport and how to continue your journey, you are very strongly advised to make use of a private
security company whose staff can meet your flight and assure your safety.
A manhunt has been launched for three men who killed a Pretoria student
and robbed her mother on their way back from the (Johannesburg International) airport, Gauteng
