is a member of PSIRA (Reg. No.2110762) in terms of the Security
Services Act of Private Security Industry Regulation Act of 2001
(Act No. 56 of 2001) .The company is a Level 1 (135%)
B-BBEE contributor and heeds compliance to the Labour Relations
Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Employment Equity Act, as
well as the Skills Development Act and abides by the PSIRA Code of
Conduct for Security Services Providers in upholding professionalism and
integrity of the industry.

Efficiency and Control
The Guardian Protection Services
is led by Lucas Sithole who is the sole founder of the company. He has
been in the security industry for more than 20years, and provided
security services in Baghdad, Iraq for many years. Below him is the
management team comprising senior staff with their complement of
security guards and assistants in the different sectors. The
Guardian Protection Services management team is composed of a
highly-competent, professional and efficient group of leaders united in
a perennial quest to furnish our clients with the best service
available, as well as provide our staff with the best care and support,
morally and materially.
The last tier of our quality-control
mechanism are our shift commanders, portrayed by entry-level managers
who are trained to approach their task with diligence, pride, expertise
and conscientiousness.
Although the aforementioned individuals are

Recruitment and Staff Selection Process
The Guardian Protection Services
applies traditional recruiting procedures which attract quality
applicants from diverse fields, through colleges, employee referrals,
seminars, newspaper advertising, and brochures. Each prospective
employee must undergo a criminal background check, fingerprinting and
The Guardian Protection Services pre-employment screening before being
hired by us. The Guardian Protection Services owner,
Lucas Sithole, is personally in charge of verifying that each would-be
employee meets these requirements. Internal recruitment personnel will
be considered after the description has been drafted. Should any post
not be filled after an internal drive, only then will an external
recruit be sought. This is to ensure that we stay committed to our
policy of employing the right staff for the job. In addition to the
aforesaid, we have one of the lowest staff turnovers in the entire
security fraternity. The Guardian Protection Services
maintains a rigid staff selection policy.
Potential candidates are required to meet
the following criteria:
- LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY: As a pre-requisite all candidates are required to meet certain written
and oral language standards to demonstrate their proficiency in written and spoken English.
- SECURITY TRAINING: Each employee must have at least a minimum of Grade C Security Training which involves
state laws, patrol techniques, self-defence and minimum force, basic fire fighting, radio communication, crime scene procedures and
identification as well as public relations.
- EDUCATION: Candidates are required to have at least a Grade 12 qualification.
All new
recruits undergo a three month probation period after which there would
be a performance evaluation, subject to which s/he will be appointed to
a permanent staff position. Description of
duties
We expect the following from our security
officers:
- Meeting the physical requirements of the job and the ability to work in the environmental conditions listed below to perform common security
functions and duties.
- Performing security patrols by company or client vehicle and/or on foot

Enforcing clients' policies and procedures

Provide any needed assistance to customers, employees, visitors, or the
public
- Perform requests by the client, within the scope of our duties or within

Services Management Team, Field Operations Manager, or Site Lead

verbally and in written form; required documentation by writing reports

and dedicated officers. We have quarterly training for all of our
security officers presented by local police officers and martial arts
specialists. Training consists of many aspects of law enforcement
training including but not limited to martial arts, and handcuff
training. This provides properties and their residents, employers and
their employees a safe and secure feeling with us.
- We do not require a written contract but can, if necessary. We feel that
if a client is not fully satisfied with our security program, they
should not be bound by a contract. We are confident in our abilities to
provide you with the best security possible.
- If you should want a one year or
longer full-time contract with The
Guardian Protection Services, we can provide up to 24 hour CCTV
off-site monitoring . We feel that this is a wonderful way for you to
monitor not only the incidents that go on within your property, but also
our response and reaction. Cameras like these have solved many problems
for our clients. We hope it will for you as well.
- If your property is not fully satisfied with our security within the
first 30 days and you decide to release The Guardian Protection Services
of
the duty to secure your property, we will fully refund you for any
fees paid prior to the service provided. We feel that we will provide you
with the best security possible and if we fall short on our mission, we
feel that we owe you something in return. To date we have never needed
to apply this policy.
- In the first two weeks of us securing your property and residents, we
will only allow experienced, senior security officers to secure the
property. This serves two major purposes:
- It allows us
to get a pulse on the goings on in your property in a direct way through
our senior security and management staff.
- It saves you and your management team time and energy of familiarising
our security staff with your property.
- We provide you with a 7 day a week, 24 hours per day, convenient contact
number. You and can call the control room number any time of the day and
one of our senior security officers will react and respond in minutes. A
very important detail of this benefit is that we will respond to this
call even if we are not patrolling or manning your property at that
time. We want you to feel safe and secure at all times, even when we are
not on duty. Another way that the control room number has worked well
for our clients is when they may have information of illegal activity
but may want to remain anonymous. In such cases, they can simply call
the number and tell us of the activity and we would handle the
situation and follow the proper protocol without ever revealing the
identity of the caller.
- At The Guardian Protection Services, we strongly believe that if there
was no-one to govern people there would be total chaos and anarchy
and for this reason we have implemented what we call special patrol
checks (SPC). This is an individual or individuals who often are senior
security officers that will randomly go to our properties 2-3 times per
week in addition to the site supervisors and ensure that our officers
are performing a proper and efficient duty on your property. We believe that
we hire the best security guards in the industry, but how could we boast
of such great security guards if we do not make an effort to investigate
the facts? We believe that the most important client is the one that we
already have so we feel that such a program will assure both you and
The
Guardian Protection Services that we truly do have the best.
- A couple of times, all of our properties wanted double or triple coverage
with little or no notice and we responded in all cases in less than an
hour, and in most cases, in just minutes. We attribute that to a couple
of things, amongst others, our security guards realise that our company
believes in reacting and responding, so when our neighbours need us and
we come running in a minimum time; we are a flexible company, your
safety comes first and everything else later.
- We as a company made a commitment to ourselves and our clients that we
